Firstly our kids were all engaged! This is a huge positive to start off with - secondary to this they could see that 'normal' people can do science. Including them!  Wonderful show and we look forward to having you back!

Using the story context made strong connections for the children.  

They seemed to grasp the concepts of forces and friction far better when explained in a story format (Billy Goats Gruff).  

The experience stimulated discussion and has led to further hands on activities involving forces and motion.

Thank you for visiting our school. I wasn't really sure how you could teach science to a large group without having them use materials and experiment for themselves, however you engaged the children and involved them, explaining concepts clearly.

What a great day, both the staff and kids loved the show and the in service.  We really liked the simplicity of the activities.  Several teachers were demonstrating their new prowess at home last night and there was a lot of discussion about it today.

A fantastic bubble show that had both students and teachers enthralled from the beginning. The students were fascinated by the bubbles and afterwards wrote some terrific bubble recounts. The show was well presented and the explanations were simple and aimed at the junior level.

The show was a fantastic way to start our "Crash, Bang, Wallop" week. The PD prior to that had really enthused the staff and helped them to get over their fear of science. We had a wonderful week full of hands-on activities.

You motivated myself to plan and teach my class that learning science is fun and exciting. Also Science is everywhere in our day to day living.

The whole day was awesome so practical and full of interest for our whole school. Great linkage to the science curriculum. Their sheer enthusiasm gave the staff a new love for the practical side of science.

Alan and Emily confirmed that teaching science -like any curriculum area - is all about confidence to take risks (make a fool of yourself if necessary) and never be afraid to be seen as a learner by your students.

The bubbles session was interactive and fun! We loved the repetition and humour. The kids will never forget mixtures and it made science real - it aligns well with the nature of science focus in the revised curriculum. A great experience that is a cost effective alternative with no travel costs- great thanks!

What a fantastic experience for staff and students! Science concepts delivered in an interactive and fun environment and pitched at appropriate levels. Science in a Van is delivered by passionate people who know their stuff and their enthusiasm for teaching science is infectious! Highly recommended.

What an inspiring day. All the shows were interactive, had everyone focused and on the edge of their seats. It has got the whole school fired up about science, including the teachers!
