I loved your Bubble Show and so did the New Entrant children at Gladstone. Thanks so much for your sense of humour.  (It was as much fun on an adult level laughing at your jokes as it was for the kids watching the bubbles!)  You are both completely mad scientists and your show was inspirational, motivating and above all, lots of fun :o)

Abby Hunt, Teacher, Gladstone Primary School, Auckland

Thanks for any other fantastic visit. Staff and students thoroughly enjoyed watching and learning.  It has been great to hear students talking about why they think things happen and applying knowledge about gravity that they learnt from your spinning wheel.  Your visits always leave the kids buzzing and give them a real excitement and positive view towards science.  Thanks again.

Cathy Middleton, Teacher, Arthur Miller School, Napier

What a great day, both the staff and kids loved the show and the in service.  We really liked the simplicity of the activities.  Several teachers were demonstrating their new prowess at home last night and there was a lot of discussion about it today.  Two teachers are very keen to do more regular and fun science.  Thanks for a great day. We like your style as you are very much like us...laid back, relaxed but you have a straight up and down approach.

Wayne Bainbridge, Principal, Matipo Primary School, Auckland

'Totally Awesome’, say both the kids and staff after another laugh out loud, fascinating show – they don’t even realise they are learning. Thanks for an awesome time!

Kristina Ineson, OSCAR / Recreation Manager, YMCA North Shore

You motivated myself to plan and teach my class that learning science is fun and exciting. Also Science is everywhere in our day to day living.

Del Bailey, Teacher, Konini Primary, West Auckland

The whole day was awesome so practical and full of interest for our whole school. Great linkage to the science curriculum. Their sheer enthusiasm gave the staff a new love for the practical side of science.

Kent Wilson, Principal, Westminster Christian School, North Shore Auckland

The bubbles session was interactive and fun! We loved the repetition and humour. The kids will never forget mixtures and it made science real - it aligns well with the nature of science focus in the revised curriculum. A great experience that is a cost effective alternative with no travel costs- great thanks!

Angela Smith, Principal, Mauku School, Pukekohe

Using the story context made strong connections for the children. They seemed to grasp the concepts of forces and friction far better when explained in a story format (Billy Goats Gruff). The experience stimulated discussion and has led to further hands on activities involving forces and motion. Thank you for visiting our school. I wasn't really sure how you could teach science to a large group without having them use materials and experiment for themselves, however you engaged the children and involved them, explaining concepts clearly.

Mel Poynter Kaiapoi North School, Christchurch

Our children really enjoyed this science experience, it was a wonderful interactive presentation which all our children were thoroughly enthralled with. They spoke about what they observed that morning, all day and the next day too!  It was wonderful to see our children learn strategies for active investigation, thinking and reasoning. Thanks Alan and Emily it was a wonderful presentation for all our children under 2's and over 2's alike.

Tina Packwood, Supervisor at Frog Puddles Childcare Centre, Auckland

We found Science in a Van fantastic, it was presented in a manner that adults and children could understand plus the humour made the time go so fast. This was worth the small amount that we were charged and it got the teachers invigorated for learning more.

Diane Hutchinson, John Street Preschool - Blenheim

Hi Emily and Alan, Fantastic show today, amazing talent, clever combination of science and entertainment, love the pantomime and just the right level of understanding forces for our age group
Thanks,
Margaret Wilson, Teacher, Cosgrove Primary School, Auckland

An amazing fun filled learning experience for all. Our students are still buzzing about some of the things they've learned. Emily and Alan have an amazing way of connecting and engaging with the students. We will have them back at our school for sure!

Firstly our kids were all engaged! This is a huge positive to start off with - secondary to this they could see that 'normal' people can do science. Including them!  Wonderful show and we look forward to having you back!

Tamatea Primary School, Napier

What a fantastic experience for staff and students! Science concepts delivered in an interactive and fun environment and pitched at appropriate levels. Science in a Van is delivered by passionate people who know their stuff and their enthusiasm for teaching science is infectious! Highly recommended.

Sarah Hynds, Teacher, Laingholm School, West Auckland

What an inspiring day. All the shows were interactive, had everyone focused and on the edge of their seats. It has got the whole school fired up about science, including the teachers!

Margaret Lange, DP, Opua School, Northland

Alan and Emily confirmed that teaching science -like any curriculum area - is all about confidence to take risks (make a fool of yourself if necessary) and never be afraid to be seen as a learner by your students.

Jonathan Davidson, Teacher, Laingholm School, West Auckland

A fantastic bubble show that had both students and teachers enthralled from the beginning. The students were fascinated by the bubbles and afterwards wrote some terrific bubble recounts. The show was well presented and the explanations were simple and aimed at the junior level.

Charmayne Eden, Teacher, Valley School, Pukekohe

The show was a fantastic way to start our "Crash, Bang, Wallop" week. The PD prior to that had really enthused the staff and helped them to get over their fear of science. We had a wonderful week full of hands-on activities.

Katie Gormley, Teacher, St Heliers School, Auckland

Dear Em and Al, We would all like to thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for the fantastic science show you did for our Kindy kiddies yesterday afternoon. Your show is engaging, fun, hands-on and incredibly informative and we are so grateful that you have managed to instil a love and fascination for science in our young tamariki. Thank you for sharing your love of science with us ….your passion for science (and bubble) was infectious!
We look forward to welcoming you back to Trinity Kindy again soon.

Kind Regards, Engela, Lara and the Trinity Kindy Teaching Team
